To commemorate the beginning of Lent, students, teachers, and faculty gathered in the Mayfield Gym for mass. To begin the mass, students sang Amazing Grace with the guide of Music Ministry members Fr. Dorian Llywelyn SJ explained in his homily how we could bring ourselves closer to God in this important season. Students then came together to get ashes which are made in the shape of a cross from both the priest and a few seniors. After the process was done, students sang the Prayer of St. Francis during the presentation of the gifts, before kneeling down in prayer for the coming 40 days. Finally, students went forward for communion and the mass closed off with a few acknowledgements from Mrs. Farrell.
