On February 20th, 2026, the Mayfield Women’s Ensemble performed at Chapman University for their invitational Choir festival. They showcased their artistry with three pieces: Flight by Craig Carnelia, Three Madrigals by Ernst Krenek, and finally I Carry Your Heart by E. E. Cummings. Following their performance, they enjoyed listening to the talent of other choirs, appreciating a wide range of classical music spanning different eras, languages, and styles. The Mayfield singers were the only all girls ensemble in attendance at the festival, highlighting their distinctive sound which made their presence a lasting impression. Adjudicators praised the “outstanding group”, commenting on their “beautiful work”, and noting that it was a “pleasure to hear them perform”. Ultimately, the Cubs proudly represented their school, dedication, and excellence. Building on this momentum, the Cubs are excited to continue their performance at USC on February 28th. They look forward to embracing new opportunities to grow, and once again, represent their school community with pride.
