On February 26th, 2026, the Sophomore Class of 2028 took part in their Class Service Day with Tree People, a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles. Upon their arrival, they came ready to work under the blazing sun and eagerly began tending the trees, removing debris and watering the newly planted greenery to restore the local environment. In South Los Angeles specifically, many residents come from low income families and can not always afford air conditioning. By planting more trees in the area, residents gain more shade during the hot summer months, making outdoor spaces cooler and more comfortable.
The following day, the Sophomores had their retreat at St Joseph Salesian Youth Center, where they participated in team building activities, reflection sessions, and group discussions. The theme of the retreat was Choices- Becoming Your Best Self, and the students reflected on how their choices affect not only themselves but also the people around them. The retreat offered a meaningful opportunity for the Sophomores to grow, set personal goals, and strengthen their sense of community and class unity. Their retreat was a clear success, leaving everyone inspired, motivated, and aware of the power of their choices in shaping who they are.
