Hello Mayfield!
Is it too early for Christmas music? With Thanksgiving underway, it’s hard to resist putting up the Christmas decorations and putting on some Nat King Cole. I’ll be the first to admit I’ve had at least one hot chocolate everyday for the past 4 days. But December will get its own Letter from the Editors! So, without further ado, here are the things the Mayfield Crier has been up to this month!
Seniors! This one is for you: Alyssa Sirois ’27 has just come out with Choose2Advance: Where Young Adults Save Thousands and Avoid Having a Broke-Grad Era for those of you who want to be particularly financially responsible during and after our college years. On that note, Beatrize Barbon ‘27, Erin Harney ‘27, and Esther Zhou ‘27 have had a fantastic start with their new club Junior Wall Street, a club that intends to educate our peers on the business world and all its inner workings to give us girls a boost in such a male dominated field. For more information check out the Mayfield Minute Wall Street at Mayfield by Nareh Pogosyan ‘27!
Do you remember that SPAM event we had just recently? We do too; Chloe Chiang ‘28 took special care to mark its importance in our community in her Mayfield Minute Spam Assembly.
Feeling like a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks? Or maybe a pumpkin loaf? Well, Alyssa Sirois points to how these spur-of-the-moment food stops might be unintentionally picking our wallets. Read her article From Drive-Thru to Debt: Rethinking Fast Food Economics to get a better understanding of how to better control how, why, and when you spend your precious dollars.
Thank you to all our staff members for their hard work this month! Stay tuned for more engaged articles on everything Mayfield and for our letter in December! Hot chocolate anyone?
Until next time,
Graciela and Sofia
