Goooood morning Mayfield! We’d like to give you a warm welcome back for the 2023-2024 school year.

Alisa and I would like to start by saying that we hope you had an amazing summer filled with lots of tanning, Starbucks runs, and mid-day naps. This summer has been relaxing for everyone, but now that we’re back on campus we’re ready to jump into making the Mayfield Crier as excellent as possible. We’re anticipating a busy senior year full of AP classes and college apps, but we’re dedicated to the newspaper and know that our team can work together to achieve our goals.

We are beyond thrilled to start our journey as co-editors-in-chief this year, and we have some really exciting ideas that we’re ready to explore. For example, although we are still going to continue keeping our online website up-to-date, we’d also like to bring back our printed newspaper issues in order to ensure that the whole Mayfield community remains informed in either a printed or online format. We want to hand out copies of the newspaper before school and after assemblies so that everyone can stay up-to-date on news. Also, we’d like to start announcing new issue launch dates during community on Mondays! We’d also like to encourage more people to engage with our instagram account (QR code below) as well as updating it frequently and recognizing staff members for their amazing contributions to the Mayfield Crier. We want to become a more prominent organization on campus that every student turns to in order to keep up with recent news. These are just a few of our ideas so stay tuned too see the rest of what we have planned! We’re excited to meet new members hoping to join the newspaper team, and we always welcome anyone looking to join. …

Well, that’s it for now! We hope you have a great first week back. We can’t wait to see what this school year brings. Stay tuned for more Mayfield Crier content coming soon!
