Prom: A Night to Remember
In glittering gowns, glam, and freshly curled hair, Mayfield’s juniors and seniors arrived at the Sheraton Universal Hotel to dance the night away at Prom 2022. The theme, Golden Age Gala, was a classy take on “Old Hollywood” that featured red carpets, golden decor, and Hollywood Walk of Fame stars. Excitement was in the air especially for the senior class who finally attended their first prom, as Covid-19 had canceled their junior year prom. With windows for walls, the Starview Room at the Sheraton Universal gave everyone an incredible view of the sunset over the Hollywood Hills, the perfect setting for a Golden Age Gala. The Prom Committee also surprised the Class of 2022 with a slideshow of photos documenting their past 4 years at Mayfield as they prepare for college and beyond.
“It was a really good chance to just let go and have fun with friends, since it was after AP exams were done. I’m really glad we got to have prom together after all the uncertainty of last year and missing our junior prom,” Alyssa Atienza ’22 said.
For Natalie Hanna ’22, “prom was a ton of fun and it was a very special way to finish our high school and make more memories with our friends.”
