Robotics Teams Win Big

Robotics+Teams+Win+Big

Mayfield is going nuts and bolts for our Robotics team who scored big at their first inter-league tournament of the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) season.

The Javabots proudly brought home the Inspire Award for their “model FIRST team” recognition. Mayfield is so inspired by their efforts, as this is the highest honor in FTC competition. They also earned first runner up for the Innovate Award, acknowledging their “ingenuity, creativity, and inventiveness.” The Javabots have earned another opportunity to awe the judges at the SoCal Regional Championship in March. We are so proud of members Agnese Sanavio ’20, Grace Vipipan ’21, Kayla Tan ’22 and Emma Franco ’22, and look forward to their next show of talent.

The Rock N’ Roll Robots put on an amazing show, taking third place overall! They went up against the team who would go on to win the event, making them just short of advancing to the Semi-finals. They were awarded first runner up for the Motivate Award for “team building, spirit, and enthusiasm.” Way to go Rebecca Lara ’21,  Ashley Dalisay ’22 and Caroline Squire ’23, for your dedication and success.

Congratulations to all of our Robotics Team members. Your hours of preparation certainly paid off, and we are so excited for where you roll to next!
