Keara Keelty
Keara Keelty is currently a senior at Mayfield this year, and serves as an Editor-in-Chief in the Op/Ed section; this is her third year serving on the staff, as she held the position of Sports Editor in the 2019-2020 school year. Outside of the newspaper, Keara is also involved in mock trial, basketball, softball, Girl Scouts, Athletic Leadership Council, SMEC, and the Creative Writing Conservatory. She has won awards through her writing, participation in mock trial, and sports - such as the Los Angeles Mock Trial Program’s Most Valuable Team Player and Honorable Mention for an Outstanding Performance, an Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, JV Basketball’s Most Valuable Player (2019) and Varsity Basketball’s Defensive Player of the Year (2020). In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing poetry, as well as volunteering with the service club - Pasadena Leos’ Club. She additionally looks forward to her last year at Mayfield, and is hoping to major in Political Science or History in college.
