Letter From the Editors: May 15, 2020

Hey Mayfield! Though these past few months have been confusing and stressful, the Mayfield community is excited to continue the new year with enthusiasm. The Mayfield Crier staff is doing everything they can to make this happen. We are pleased to introduce ourselves, Editors-in-Chief for the 2020-2021 school year: Bella Tiner, Esme Chiara-News and Features; Grace Fontes-EIC-Editorial; Keara Keelty-EIC-Opinion; Gracie Sandman- Managing EIC; Hannah Sherman MayfieldCrier.org Editor; Mia Maalouf – Columnist and General Assignment Reporter. More assignments are on the way!

We want to bring our creativity and new ideas to the Mayfield Crier monthly, and to our new online newspaper as well. We plan to integrate the Crier website into the community more and make it a place for students to go for current updates on Mayfield activities.

We also want to congratulate our seniors for a great year. We know it hasn’t exactly been your typical year, but you remained as good-natured as possible and muddled through it. Your spirit, ambition, and energy have left its mark on Mayfield, and we wish you luck as you embark on your college journeys. We especially want to give a shoutout to our Mayfield Crier seniors: Emily Wallace, Vienna Copado, Maddie Brooks, and Sarah Smith. Your work on the paper has been incredible and you have given us big shoes to fill. We hope that you will be as proud of us as we are of you.

In these troubling times, we hope that you, the Mayfield community, can find ways to be safe and happy. Please talk to, text, or email us if you have any ideas for the upcoming year! Go Cubs!
