On Saturday, April 26th, Mayfield’s Swim Team competed in the Prep League Finals. Their hopes were high as the Cubs have been working very hard this season. Despite the cold weather, the Cubs displayed an outstanding performance. The Varsity Swim Team took home the win and became the Prep League Champions for the 5th consecutive year. In addition, the JV Swim Team took home another great win and became the Prep League Champions for the 20th consecutive year. Congratulations to the Cubs for their hard work! After the meet, the Cubs celebrated their 9 seniors Francis Aguirre, Erin Erickson, Lara Georgian, Kate Georgino, Sophia Georgino, Olivia Laguna, Sophie Limongelli, Sasha Madilian, and Bella Villavicencio. Good luck to the Cubs who are competing in CIF Division 2 Prelims on May 7th!

Ann Tanaka is a Senior at Mayfield Senior School and the Sports Editor of the Mayfield Crier. She joined Newspaper in her junior year and has grown to become extremely passionate about writing. While she enjoys writing about many subjects, she is especially interested in writing about sports. In addition to writing, she pursues her passion for sports as a Junior Olympic diver and a swim coach. Outside of school, she likes to spend her time volunteering at various organizations such as Club Moai and Club 21. This year, Ann is thrilled to improve her writing skills and explore new topics.
