Mayfield’s Varsity Swim and Dive team is off to a great start in the 2025 season! On Friday, March 14th, the swimmers traveled 6 hours from Pasadena to Concord to attend the 35th annual De La Salle Invitational. The Cubs had a great weekend full of record-breaking accomplishments. Despite the cold weather, the Cubs persevered through the weekend and gave it their all. In the 100 Backstroke, Sophia Georgino ’25 got a time of 58.41, setting a new school record. Etienne Lanchantin ‘26 shared, “The De La Salle Invitational was a great experience. There was so much team bonding and everyone had so much fun. It was rewarding to see our hard work and practice reflected in our times.”
In addition, on Thursday, March 20th, the swimmers and divers faced the Poly Panthers. They took home the win and it was a great day for the Cubs. Morgan Burns ‘25 broke her own record for 6 dives and set a new record for 281.40 points.
