One thing I know I struggle with is figuring out what to wear. It doesn’t matter how many (or how few) clothes you have in your wardrobe—sometimes, when it comes time to pick an outfit for a specific occasion, you’re just stuck. I’m definitely guilty of this, and it happens to me every day. So, I’m here to give you a rundown of what to wear for different situations if you are stuck too sometimes.
Comfy: When it comes to going to coffee, a movie, or chill night at a friends, and you want a comfy but still cute outfit, read this. Let’s start from the top. You want a good base layer that you will be comfortable in. I would recommend going with a Skims Tee, Tankair Studio Tank, or any basic tee/tank. You can also spice it up with a more fun tee, like ones from With Jéan, or Réalisation Par. For bottoms, skip the basic grey cuffed sweatpants and opt for something with a bit more style. My recommendations are: Brandy Priscilla Pants (they have a variety of colors and are stylish and very comfy), Ed Hardy Sweats, Freecity Sweats, Ex-Boyfriend Pants (comfy unique pajama pants), or With Jean Track Pants. As for cover ups, I love a cozy knit cardigan. Some of my favorites come from Paloma Wool, Orseund Iris, Danielle Guizio, Buci or Aritzia. Shoes are also key here. I love Sambas to brighten up the outfit. To complete your look, accessories are essential. A Coach or Etsy vintage purse are great choices. Anthropologie also has some great stylish bags. If you want something more, you can add a cute beanie. And then always always always add jewelry of your choice.
Day Fit: For midday outing—whether it is grabbing lunch with friends, or simply shopping—this is for you. The perfect day fit includes jeans, a tee, and a jacket. The best jeans are vintage baggy Levi’s, Aritzia jeans, or something more fun from Ssense. To add to the jeans, grab a belt from Freepeople. When it comes to tops you can really go in any direction. You can stick with basics like a black or white tank, tee, or long sleeve, or mix it up with a fun graphic tee. For that, those I linked in the “comfy section” are perfect. For more elevated pieces, Reformation and Jaded London have some beautiful options. For jackets, when I want something simple, I love a jean jacket or cardigan. When I want something more, Urban Outfitters, Scuffers Charlotte Simone have some of my all time favorite jackets. And, of course, don’t forget your accessories to elevate the look.
Activewear/workout fit: For hikes, walks with friends, or even a workout class where you want to look cute while still being comfortable, I’ve got you. I love a workout but also love to look stylish, so when you want cute activewear, check out Form, Set Active, Aritzia, and Alo. Then you have to add some cute shoes, like Sambas, or Nike 530s which are great for hiking but still cute. And then, again, cardigans and sweatshirts for a cover up. I love a good vintage graphic crewneck, Jaded London zip-ups are so cute, asos cardigans and then fur coats are always fun. And then again, accessories (jewelry, and bags) are great ways to elevate your outfit.
Night out: Finally, when it comes to going out at night—whether to dinner, a party, or any night event—read this. If you want something more casual for dinner, what I put in “Day Fit” are all great options for that. But, if you want a more elevated, fancy outfit, I’ve got it here. A skirt and boot look is my go-to for me when I am going out at night. Some of my favorite going out skirts are: I Am Gia skirts, Tankair Mini Skirt, and Réalisation Par skirts. Then pair your skirt with a stylish top from Danielle Guizio, Jaded London, Réalisation par, or Zara. For shoes, I love a good boot to elevate my outfit. Vince Camuto black boots and Steve Madden buckle leather boots are my top picks. When it comes to Jackets, you can go anyway, but I would recommend a leather jacket, or Charlotte Simone. And then, finally, to wrap up your outfit, jewelry. I always reach for large gold hoops, gold bangles, and any big statement necklace.
