The Society of Philippine Americas at Mayfield(SPAM) hosted a vibrant, bustling Filipino Heritage Month Assembly. Students, faculty, parents, and even a dance instructor came together to create a beautifully fun and informative assembly celebrating Filipino culture. It was an opportunity for the Mayfield community to better understand Filipino culture through observing and engaging with it. From history, to Pandanggo sa ilaw dancing, to fashion, to art, to halo-halo – a popular Filipino dessert- there were numerous stations for Mayfield students to learn about and partake in the culture. Ultimately, it was a memorable experience for Mayfield, deepening our appreciation and understanding of different cultures.
