Jordan Steele, Graphic Illustrator
Jordan Steele is a Junior at Mayfield Senior School and currently serves as the Graphics Editor for The Mayfield Crier. Jordan has been working on newspaper since Freshman year and is well-known for her original graphic elements, editorial cartoons, themed mastheads, and overall creative acumen. Jordan is an actively involved student and dedicated member of the Visual Arts Conservatory, Arts Council, JV Tennis Team, and National Honors Society. Additionally, Jordan has received numerous accolades for her artistic achievements including the prestigious U.S. Congressional Art Award for the 32nd District and was flown to Washington D.C. to receive her recognition from Congressman Brad Sherman where her winning artwork “Family Remembrance” is displayed at the U.S. Capitol / Canon Tunnel for members of Congress, distinguished guests, and tens of thousands of visitors to admire. Jordan also holds multiple National Scholastic Art Awards, and is a scholarship recipient of the Gelb Charitable Foundation for academic excellence. Jordan has gained real-world experience with extensive volunteer hours at the Huntington Museum, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Art Therapy program, and Ascencia Homeless Service Agency. In the future, Jordan hopes to obtain an advanced degree in Art History and Studio Art to work in Museum Management at a National Museum.
