Last week, Mayfield’s Visual Arts, Writing, and Photography Conservatories gathered to listen to an exciting presentation from animator and producer Bernard Derriman! Mr. Derriman informed the students of his career journey, from discovering his talent for animation and working on animated Disney films to his recent experience producing “Bob’s Burgers.” He brought in his animation equipment and demonstrated the intricate steps of the animation process, including character design as well as the different layers of background design. In addition to his engaging demonstration, they were presented with a new full episode of “Bob’s Burgers,” where they could see the final animation product in action. The Mayfield Conservatory Cubs were delighted to have Mr. Bernard as a special guest artist and cannot wait to learn more about career opportunities in the arts!
