On December 15, 2022 Mayfield families flooded into Pike Auditorium, eager to dive into the Christmas spirit and listen to the pieces that Instrumental Conservatory has been working on. Instrumentalists, which included violinists, pianists, guitarists, and more, performed many songs such as “Sleigh Ride” and “Hanukkah Dance” under the instruction of Ms. Hablewitz. Claire Pruyn ‘26, a guitarist, and her sister Anna Pruyn ‘23 performed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” which moved the whole audience. Later in the night, families filled Strub Hall’s lobby to listen to Mayfield’s Women’s Ensemble sing on the stairs of Strub. Some songs they beautifully sang include “Carol of the Drums” and “Yom Seh L’ Yisreal.” To close off the night, singers, instrumentalists, and their families enjoyed cups of Mayfield punch and hot chocolate and ate delicious cookies.
