Zero Plastic Challenge
Abby’s Total: 6 pieces
Esme’s total: 10 pieces
Top three lessons we learned from trying to avoid plastic for a week:
- Any food or any ingredient comes in plastic, so it is almost impossible to go completely plastic free in our society
- We don’t necessarily have to go completely plastic free, just narrow the amount of plastic we use
- The food industry in particular needs to cut back on plastic use, and other industries such as feminine hygiene products also should switch to alternatives (some brands already do, why can’t there be more?)
*a shoutout to fast food places that try to minimize their plastic use such as Subway
