Senior Scrapbook: Second Semester! Seniors Set Up for Success

8 semesters. That’s all you get in high school. And for the Class of 2025, the time has come for their last one.

Mayfield’s senior class has many bitter-sweet moments to look forward to in the coming months:

January:

The class will take the famous “Senior Gate Photo” for the yearbook. The front photo shows the seniors in their formal uniforms, carefully positioned and smiling at the camera. The cool thing is, this photo opens up and reveals the seniors in college hoodies and spirited poses.
Seniors in the dance conservatory will choreograph and dance in their last Winter Dance Concert.

February:

Senior nights for the winter sports. Waterpolo, basketball, and soccer teams will celebrate their senior teammates’ contribution and commitment to their sport.
Spirit Week! A week of themed free dress days and fun activities. On Thursday the seniors will participate in a school wide dance battle. And on Friday, the Class of 2025 will compete in their last ever Red and White Day.

March:

Senior actors and technicians will put on the musical, Six! Seniors will give their talents one last time to ensure a legendary show.
Mayfield will host their annual Winter Formal and the last one the Class of 2025 will get to go to.

April:

The Spring dance concert will showcase and highlight dancers in the Class of 2025.
Softball, Badminton, Equestrian, and Swim and Dive teams will host senior nights to celebrate their athletes.

May:

Seniors will get to decorate their cars and shirts with the college they will be attending in the fall.
On May 16th, Campus Ministry will host a Senior Farewell Mass to bless the Class of 2025 during the last few weeks of their high school careers.
May 17th is Prom!! Seniors (and juniors) will get dressed up and have an unforgettable night.
Cubs will experience a Senior Service Week where they will devote the whole week to volunteering at an organization of their choice. Connecting with their community.
Baccalaureate Mass. The senior class will have mass together one last time.

June:

Graduation! Bye bye high school!

Sophie Limongelli is a senior at Mayfield Senior School. This is her second year writing for The Mayfield Crier. Last year, in her Journalism class, she reported for Cubs Student News and learned about current events, podcasting, and column writing. She has a leadership role in Campus Ministry Council and is the head of an environmental club! Sophie enjoys interviews, localized news reporting, and is eager to try new things. This year, she is the Feature Co-Editor, focusing on her piece “Senior Scrapbook.” This column will highlight beloved traditions and events that make Senior year so special. Kate Georgino is a senior at Mayfield Senior School and this will be her third year writing for the Mayfield Crier. Kate enjoys learning about podcasting, current events, and photography. Kate has received an honorable mention from Scholastic for her poetry and hopes to continue composing additional pieces. This year, Kate is focusing on a feature that documents her senior year. “Senior Spotlight” will highlight the important traditions that make Mayfield the special place it is. Kate is ready to explore new topics, improve her writing, and report on issues she is passionate about. Kate is eager for another fun year of reporting.
