Mayfield’s Varsity Water Polo team is off to a great start to their 2024-2025 season! Despite the cold weather, the Cubs show up to practice everyday, ready on deck. On December 6th, the Cubs fought a tough battle against Westridge and unfortunately ended with a 15-11 defeat. Although the Cubs have their ups and downs, they continue to work hard everyday. The Cubs demonstrate that determination and grit is the key to success. On December 10th, the Cubs played a game against La Salle and ended with a 15-10 victory! Melia Whalen ‘26 has been a part of Mayfield’s Varsity Water Polo team for three years and she shares “At the start of our season we struggled due to the amount of seniors we lost last season but through practice we continue to improve. Our goal is to make CIF and we put in the hard work to hopefully achieve this goal.” Good luck to the Cubs for their next game against Poly on January 21 at Poly. Go Cubs!
