On September 23rd, the Finalists for the Rose Court were announced. Among the 28 finalists were Mayfield senior schools Sophia Page, Lara Georgian and Isabella Villavicencio. We are extremely proud of our seniors for this amazing accomplishment.
On September 30th, the Rose Court was officially announced. It was a very exciting morning as seniors, faculty, and staff cheered on our finalists at the Rose Court Announcement. Lara Georgian was selected as one of the 7 princesses on the Rose Court, and we are so excited to see her in the New Years Day Rose parade, and the coin toss at the beginning of the Rose Bowl game. Lara and the other Rose court members were selected from hundreds of applicants for their character, service, and leadership. I asked Lara Georgian how she felt when she was picked to be on the Rose Court and her experience so far, and she said that she felt very excited. I also asked her what her favorite experience has been so far, to which she responded,“I think my favorite experience is getting to know all the girls and the committee members. I’m most excited right now for the coronation announcement because I’m really excited to see who’s queen. I always watch the parade growing up and so I’m really excited that I get to be part of it now.”
Lara will be participating in several events leading up to New Year’s. We look forward to supporting Lara throughout her journey on the Rose Court, and we are extremely proud of her and all that she will achieve.
In addition to participating in important community events, Lara Georgian will receive a $7,500 academic scholarship as she begins college in the fall. The Rose Court also engages in personal development programs designed to enhance their public speaking and presentational abilities, boost self-confidence, and refine their etiquette skills. Rose Court members are provided with opportunities to actively participate in the community, make positive contributions, and discover ways to connect with local leaders. These girls embody character, service and leadership, demonstrated through their dedication to family, school, and community. The Rose Court and the Queen Court represent cherished traditions within the history of Pasadena.
One of the 7 members of the Rose Court will be chosen to serve as the 106th Rose Queen on October 29th. The seven members of the Rose Court include Lara Georgian (Mayfield Senior School), Lisette Parker (Maranatha High school), Saniyah Brunston (John Muir High School), Natalia Pradhan, Simone Ball (Arcadia High School), Lindsay Charles (Westridge school), and Kate Kelly (La Cañada High school).
