Mayfield’s 2024 Varsity Soccer team has begun! Preseason practices started on November 4th with tryouts the following week November 11th. Varsity’s preseason games began November 19th at Occidental College with a tie against Campbell Hall. Later competing against Immaculate Heart in a scrimmage on November 22. After a couple days off for Thanksgiving break, the Cubs took on a win 2-0 against San Marino their first day back, December 2nd. An intense game against La Cañada, finishing the game with an unfortunate 3-0 loss. Good luck to the Cubs in their upcoming games against Monrovia on December 9th, and an exciting game against Fsha on December 12th!

MacKenzie Thomas is a Sophomore at Mayfield Senior School, and is starting her first year writing for the Mayfield Crier. She would love to write about Mayfield athletic, as she is currently a 2nd member of the volleyball, soccer and track and field teams. Outside of sports, Kenzie sews clothing in her free time.
