Hi Mayfield!
Fall is in full swing. The air is getting crisper, Starbucks’ autumn menu is back, and Strub hall is covered in orange leaves. With the November 1st college deadline passed, our seniors were working hard to polish every essay, finalize their college lists, and submit their applications! That being said, the Crier’s senior staff members continued to publish pieces about Mayfield events, wellness, and fashion!
In their Senior Scrapbook, seniors Sophie Limongelli and Kate Georgino document important senior events like the First Day of School, the Last Dig Pink, and Senior Retreat! Keep yourself updated about the senior class’ memorable events as Sophie and Kate chronicle their experiences this year.
Senior Olivia Dixon’s column “The Wellness Insider” gives teen girls raw advice in response to anonymous questions. Olivia covers self consciousness, productivity, and friendship disputes. We can’t wait to see what advice Olivia gives us this year!
Lastly, senior Frances Aguirre’s column “Fashion with Frances” advises teenagers on ways they can improve their style. From sharing her favorite thrifting tips to coaching her readers on how to find their own style, Frances’ passion for fashion shines through!
The rest of the crier staff has also been very active this year! Junior Mary Bingham explored the connection between social media and political conversations as the election looms closer. Read Mary’s article here to learn about the media’s influence on the political climate at high schools. Junior Graciella Mills researched about the impact of school shootings on mental health in high schools. Stay up to date with these articles, and more Mayfield news, on the Crier website.
We cannot wait to see how the staff will grow throughout the year. Stay tuned for everything we have in store!
Until next time,
Stella & Sophia
