Hello Cubs! We hope you’ve been having a great school year so far!

We are overjoyed to work together as co-editors-in-chief in the 2024-2025 school year. The Mayfield Crier is back and better than ever! This year we predict new articles every month along with some totally amazing comics and even a few new podcasts. We have new ways to bring attention to the Crier. Be sure to check out our 1st floor board and gallery where we will be displaying some of our greatest. And follow us on Instagram @mayfieldcriernews where you’ll find Cubs stories, Mayfield Minutes, and the latest on MSS events. We have a large and enthusiastic staff this year and are looking forward to sharing your stories.

Sophia Sandman, Editer-in-Chief

Sophia Sandman is a senior at Mayfield Senior School and the current Co-Editer-in-Chief of The Mayfield Crier. She loves photography and is taking AP Photography this year. Sophia also loves the arts, and enjoys drawing and painting during her free time. She hopes to become a veterinarian and is very passionate about animals. She loves to volunteer at the “Pasadena Humane Society” and surround herself with animals and science. Sophia is the president of the “Madhatter Knits” club at Mayfield, where she helps knit beanies for premature babies in the NICU. She hopes to grow as a writer and a member of the Mayfield Crier this year!

Stella Keyes, Editor-In-Chief

Stella Keyes is a senior at Mayfield, and this is her second year on the Mayfield Crier staff. She is currently the Co-Editor-in-Chief, and is excited to grow as a leader throughout the year. At Mayfield, she is involved in creative writing, journalism, and yearbook. Stella has received two honorable mentions in The New York Times student contests, and is excited to continue shaping her journalistic voice. In addition to writing, she loves photography, animals, and music. The president of the Animal Rights Club, she spends her weekends volunteering at a cat rescue and plans on pursuing a career in animal science. Stella is so excited to see what this year has in store!
