After watching Mayfield’s fall production of The Diary of Anne Frank, Sofia Shield, co-founder and Programs and Operations Director of AnneFrankLA, contacted Mayfield about a potential partnership to display their traveling exhibit, Anne Frank- A History for Today. The 32 panel exhibit details the rise of the Nazis, the persecution of the Jews, and Anne Frank’s childhood and life story.
In addition to spreading awareness on the Holocaust and Anne Frank’s story, AnneFrankLA aims to amplify youth involvement in this mission. Ten Mayfield students volunteered to complete a two-day workshop in order to serve as docents for the Anne Frank exhibit. Every Mayfield Theology class is touring the exhibit where they will deepen their knowledge of the Holocaust.
The exhibit is on display on Mayfield’s campus from January 17th to January 31st.
