August 27th, 2020 was an unforgettable day because it marked Mayfield’s first-ever virtual orientation for the new freshmen class! The young women were able to build a communal bond and friendships, despite not being physically together. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and the people who make up Mayfield’s incredible community.

With the introduction of the 2020-2021 school year theme as Sponge Bob and the assignment of characters from the show to each grade level, the freshman were named “Gary” because they are emerging from their shells and being guided by their junior big sisters who were named “Spongebob.” The Class of 2024 has conquered so much these past months, and there is no doubt that they will achieve many more milestones in the years to come. From meeting faculty and staff to participating in ice breaker activities, Mayfield’s energy and enthusiasm have sincerely brought us the hope we need to start this school year! Go Garys!
